Fast Track Smart City Competition present 13 winners

The Union Urban Development Ministry declared 13 winners of the fast-track Smart City competition. The 13 cites which emerged as winners are:

•    Warangal (Telangana)

•    Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh)

•    Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh)

•    Chandigarh

•    Raipur (Chattisgarh)

•    New Town Kolkata

•    Bhagalpur (Bihar)

•    Panaji (Goa)

•    Port Blair (Andaman & Nicobar Islands)

•    Imphal (Manipur)

•    Ranchi (Jharkhand)

•    Agartala (Tripura)

•    Faridabad (Haryana)

 Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu maintained that selection of these cities was based on marks scored by them in the fast-track competition and the benchmarks created by the top performers in the first round of the Smart City Mission. A remarkable improvement in their Smart City plans aimed at eliminating the deficiencies identified in the first round of the competition was observed.
