Bristol named leading UK Smart City

Huawei, a leading provider of global information and communications solutions has created a report relating to UK Smart Cities Index where Bristol grabs the tag of leading UK smart city alongside London. The report considers the best practices  and challenges to be tackled through technology for citizens’ benefit. Focus on citizens has allowed Bristol to adopt a user-friendly and engaging approach to deal with serious urban challenges. The city has pioneered two large city level projects, ‘Bristol is Open’ and ‘SPHERE’, where sensor systems are being developed for health monitoring and home well-being.The success of Bristol in bagging such a title is a result of the collaborative effort of  Bristol Futures, Bristol City Council and city’s academia businesses and the overall community.
