Odisha to host 2023 Hockey World Cup

Bhubaneswar is all set to co-host the 15th edition of Men’s Hockey World Cup along with steel city Rourkela. This comes as no surprise as the last Hockey World Cup hosted by Bhubaneswar in 2018 was a smashing hit in terms of the huge audience and the world-class arrangements. As Bhubaneswar possesses the precious past experience as well as an upgraded Kalinga Stadium facility, some efforts would make the capital city ready. However, Rourkela would need highly concentrated efforts like improved air connectivity to allow uninterrupted movement of the teams, media, tourists, and other stakeholders and hotels, public infrastructure development etc. to meet the standards to host the international event which is sure to allure high spending sports enthusiasts. With good three years in hand, Odisha is sure to put up a good show.
