'A day with Japan' event hosted on campus in BBSR

Utkal University's students and faculties got an opportunity to learn about Japanese culture, food and language during the event, 'A day with Japan'. The event was organised by the varsity Japan Study Centre, who have been trying to promote Japanese culture all over the world. It was held under the auspices of the university's Centre of Excellence in Language, Culture and Heritage (RUSA) in association with Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata. A calligraphy workshop was also conducted during the event to train participants on writing in ornate Japanese language. As per report, the university has been granted permission from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to get a Japanese teacher for 2 years.
