Training of 'Pragati Sathis' to prevent vector-borne diseases
At least sixty leaders or 'Pragati Sathis' have been chosen under the Socially Smart Bhubaneswar initiative to undergo training by National Health Mission (NHM) officials on prevention of Malaria, Dengue and Diarrhoea (MDD). These leaders will be taking up the charge at community level to clean the slums in order to prevent vector-borne diseases. Orientation of these 60 peer leaders was taken up at PHC- Satya nagar, where the officials showcased the young boys and girls through presentation how these diseases are spread and what steps should be taken up to control specially on rainy days. Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited is working in collaboration with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to strengthen the social components of the Smart City.
