RBI Survey: BBSR has most affordable housing
In a recent survey conducted by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), smart city Bhubaneswar has topped as most affordable housing city in country. As per the survey, the house price to income ratio (HPTI) of Bhubaneswar stands at 54.3 compared to 74.4 in Mumbai, 56.1 in Bengaluru, 58.6 in Chennai, 58.5 in Delhi, 60.3 in Hyderabad, 56.5 in Kolkata and 66.6 in Pune. Basic affordability measure for housing in a given area is generally the ratio of a median house price to familial disposal income. The Centre and the State are planning to launch new schemes for development of affordable housing projects through private sectors.
