Solar module manufacturing plant near Bhubaneswar

Topaz Solar is setting up the first solar module manufacturing plant in Odisha with annual capacity of 1,200 MW of solar panels. 70 acers of land at Bandal, has been acquired for the purpose and first phase of the 500MW is estimated as Rs 238-crore. The second phase will commence two years from the commercial production of 500 MW in the first phase. Topaz is also building an R&D center in association with an European firm to have the unskilled local labour trained. This will be first of its kind plant in the world to have a module manufacturing plant with self sufficient power production.
