Better sanitation in the city by 1700 sulabh toilets

Sanitation being one of the prime challenges of the of the capital city for smart city mission,BMC is taking rigorous attempt to  revamp it. Recently it entered into an understanding with Sulabh International SI, an organization promoting environment-friendly sanitation across the country who has assured the erection of 1700 toilets across the city within three months. According to sources, the city has all the required infrastructure for the program where as the availability of land in the chosen places may be a concern. The toilets will be maintained by SI for 10 years and the responsibility would be handed over to BMC thereafter.  Users can obtain a monthly card paying Rs.50 per family irrespective of the number of members.
