Utkal University promotes original research through conclave

A research scholars' conclave was organized by the Utkal University to encourage original qualitative research work and shun plagiarism in acquiring Ph.D degrees. During the event 100 research scholars displayed their works in 10 different categories. The university has started the conclave as part of a series of initiatives to promote research, which is planned to be an annual event. A corpus of Rs. 27 lakh for start-up research funding and Rs. eight lakh for research on out-of-the-box ideas by young faculty members (below 45 years) has been created recently. 15 young faculty members - have the opportunity of earning one lakh each- for original research ideas(12 from within the university and three from any of the affiliated colleges).
