Traffic fine to be collected in cashless way in BBSR
People who shall violate traffic rules need not pay their fines in cash any more. The commissionerate police launched e-challan system for enabling traffic violators to pay their fines through debit or credit cards. Last year, around Rs 3.31 crore was collected in fines from nearly 1.2 lakh people which were all in cash. This lead to the initiation of going cashless, which is believed to make things more convenient. The e-challan system will help improve transparency and reduce paperwork allowing better enforcement of traffic regulations. The point of sale (POS) devices will be used to swipe debit and credit cards, which will be provided by HDFC Bank.
