Odisha government sponsors higher education for orphans

A free higher education scheme for orphans, Green Passage, has been declared by the state government. The scheme will be financed by the government and monitored by the department of higher education to benefit around 16000 students. Starting from admission, tuition, examination and hostel fee(for plus II students and above) to infrastructure like school premises and  laboratory shall be borne by the state authorities. Green Passage is a historic social welfare initiative under which the entire education cost of homeless students irrespective of their enrolment into private or government colleges and universities is being sponsored by the Odisha government
