Rayagada to be better connected with 41 new roads soon

The Maoist-hit Chandrapur block in the Rayagada district is going to have better connectivity as the district administration is going to construct 41 new roads of 299 kilometres under the Pradhan Mantri Gramya Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the current financial year. Involving Rs 176 crore, this project will result in better transport facilities for the tribals, thereby their development. While the survey and estimation of the roads are completed the detailed project report is pending for approval. A 17-km road from Dangasorada to Korlagudi entailing around Rs 9.92 crore expenditure has already been built by the Rural Works Dept of Rayagada.
